Tsukuba International Preschool students tried their hand at planting rice seedlings in a neighbouring rice field. It was a first time experience for most of the children and we were lucky to have grades 6 & 7 from TIS to help us out. Lots of fun!

Our second Unit of Inquiry at TIP this school year was “Let’s Do Art!”. We had a lot of fun with this unit, focusing on:
- why people create art
- the processes of art
- the lives and works of famous artists
- different artistic techniques
We listened to stories about famous artists and tried making artworks similar to theirs. We also experimented with these new techniques to make our own creations. We learned that we are all artists, and learned how to appreciate the work of others through the creation of our very own art gallery.
