Skye Wheat

TIP StaffMs. Wheat is from Wollongong, Australia. She graduated with a degree in Japanese and Asia-Pacific Studies from the University of Wollongong and has a Masters degree in Primary Education from Charles Sturt University. She has over 6 years experience teaching early learners and is excited to be involved in the development of the preschool program at TIP. She believes that preschool children are at a precious age where they have an enormous capacity to learn. By providing a wide array of experiences in a supportive and comfortable environment, she hopes that her students will develop the skills to become caring, international-minded, well-rounded, independent and successful learners. Ms. Wheat loves living in Japan and has been living here for several years. In her downtime she enjoys reading, snowboarding, yoga, traveling, arts and crafts, and learning about new cultures and languages.

Hiromi Yagishita

TIP StaffMrs. Yagishita lives in Tsukuba. She has a degree in English Language and Literature from Meikai University. After graduating, she worked at Hilton Tokyo Bay Hotel for five years before deciding to attend Seitoku University in order to obtain her license to become a nursery school teacher. She has five years’ experience teaching in a Japanese nursery school. Mrs. Yagishita is in charge of Japanese education at TIP. She helps the students take their first steps towards reading and writing and she also introduces them to various elements of Japanese culture, including “warabeuta” (traditional children’s songs), kamishibai (storytelling), and seasonal events. In her spare time, she likes to read books, cook, and play with her daughters (currently 10 and 2 years old). She also likes to play golf with her husband and daughter whenever she can.
